My in-laws used to have Christmas parties every year, and for my first one I needed an outfit. I was recently married and living in Chicago and my mother took me to Marshall Fields and bought these pants for me. She said they were quintessentially classic and topped with a black cashmere sweater I “couldn’t go wrong”. She was right. I’ve worn these pants over the years swapping out the cashmere sweater for something more modern to balance out the conservative cut and print of the pants, perhaps trying to say that I’m grounded in rock solid tradition but not necessarily stuck there. People will notice you in these pants, because- Holy Big Plaid- how can they not? Whoever buys these, keep in touch, will you? I want to know where the pants take you. Or you take them.
Vintage 90s Pendleton Pants, in Wallace Tartan. 100% virgin wool, fully lined. The pictures do not do them justice. Pockets. There were two small holes on the waistband and I had them repaired. See the pictures (one picture shows both repairs together, then I have two other photos of each repair). Pendleton is no joke-their clothes last forever.
